The novel "1984" by George Orwell, presented a new language; newspeak. A language which reduces the words and meanings of english language in order to reduce the thinking and decision making process among the citizens of three nations in the book. The main aim of my research paper is to demonstrate and analyze the model of newly founded reality through the newspeak language in the novel and how the newspeak language as the natural language of the future generations has the function of perishing the thought and perception process and creates a desemiosis in a sense that no new signs nor sign systems can be produced if the communication is reduced only to the basic and imposed phrases. When one has no opinions or attitudes, he or she becomes an easy target for manipulation and thus the different, ''better'' reality is formed. The main methods which will be used in this paper are Juri Lotman's notion of semiosphere to determine the core, boundary and the periphery in the language structure and its affect on the reality and A.J. Greimas's actantial model to establish the relation between the language and the inner party and outer party speakers and the hierarchy between the citizens and the authority figures in the novel. Therefore, a connection between the literary language and the thought reducing reality model will be established as well.
