Registration

How the registration process works:
1. You pre-register without paying.
2. You get your registration ID (RegID).
3. With your RegID you submit panel proposals (deadline 31 December 2023) or paper abstracts (31 march 2024). There is a limitation of maximum 2 panel proposals and 2 paper proposals for each participant.
4. When your submission is accepted you can proceed to full registration by fulfilling the payment of a registration fee. After the payment is credited, you receive a final registration confirmation email.
Registration can only be effected via the Congress website.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or credit card on-line payment only.

University of Warsaw and organizers of 16th World Congress of Semiotics have decided that the participation of persons with affiliation in the Russian Federation or in Belarus will not be considered

^[2]PhD students are eligible to discounted registration fees. To prove your student status, a copy of your student ID or a letter from your institution MUST BE SENT UPON REGISTRATION. Failure to produce the proof of student status will result in a charge to the regular participant registration fee.

All prices include 23% VAT tax.‍

Extra fees, paid directly to the Congress Secretariat, are required for the following:
- Accompanying person (€ 170) - includes: lunches and coffee breaks, welcome reception
- Gala reception (€ 35)

‍The registration form will also include:
- eligibility to participate in a free cultural trip in Warsaw on 6.09.2024 and
- planned dates of participation in the congress (on all days or only on selected ones?)

The 16th Congress of the IASS-ASS is organized by The University of Warsaw. The registration procedure is handled through Nobell Congressing Ltd. – 16th World Congress of the IASS/AIS Official Secretariat.

IMPORTANT: Registration fees do not include the membership fee to the IASS / AIS during Congress year (standard individual rate: € 25). Membership to the IASS is obligatory for participating in IASS World Congresses and is required for access to the Assembly and for choosing IASS / AIS authorities. The membership fee should be added to the registration fee and will be remitted to the IASS / AIS Treasurer. Registration policy

‍Cancellation refund policy
If you can no longer attend the 16th World Congress of the IASS-AIS, you can cancel your registration and receive a full refund, less a 20 EUR administration fee, up to 31 July 2024. Cancellations of 16th World Congress of IASS/AIS registrations must be communicated to the Congress' Official Secretariat, in writing by e-mail to info@semcon2024.com. After 1 August 2024 no refunds will be made for cancellations or for no shows. Shared registrations are not permitted. All refunds will be processed after the event. Any refunds to credit card payments may only be credited back to the original credit card.

‍Confirmation
‍Upon completion of your online registration and after the registration fee is credited to the bank account, you will be sent a final registration confirmation by email. The confirmation is sent to the e-mail address provided on the registration form and it will indicate receipt of the payment. An invoice will follow the registration confirmation e-mail.

‍Accepted methods of payment
‍1. Payment by credit card (for all registration categories). The online registration platform is a secured site. VISA, Eurocard/MasterCard, America Express and Diners cards are accepted. Please enter all relevant information on the registration form. It is also mandatory that the credit cardholder’s name is clearly mentioned if it differs from the registrant’s name. After the positive credit card authorisation, you will be sent a confirmation of your registration within one working day after the credit card payment is finalized.
2. Bank transfer (for all registration categories) – to the account number given in the pre-registration confirmation.

‍Invoices
‍Only a digital version of invoices will be sent to participants upon completion of the online registration and after the registration fee is paid. The invoice will be issued using the billing details provided on the registration form, so please make sure you have provided us with the correct information (company name, address and VAT/tax identification number if applicable).

Abstracts
‍By submitting your abstract, you consent to its editing and publication by the organisers of the 16th World Congress on the congress website and in the abstract volume.

‍Videos and photographs
‍The 16th World Congress organizers reserve the right to record, in the form of video or photographs, all sessions included in the programme and to use videos in any internal and external communication referring to 16th World Congress, including, but not limited to, its websites and mobile application and social media pages. By registering to 16th World Congress you hereby consent to such uses by the conference organizer.

‍Reclamation
- Each client has a right to reclamation regarding the Congress within 14 working days of the last date of the Congress’ activities.
- Reclamation must be communicated to the 16th World Congress Official Secretariat in writing by registered post or by email.
- Reclamation will be considered withing 14 working days from the date is was received byt the Organizer.
- In case additional action(s) (such as law consultancy, other external expertise) need(s) to be taken in order to proceed with the reclamation process, time for the reclamation to be considered may be extended.
- Reclamation decision will be communicated in writing by email.

‍Please note that the only legitimate sources of communication related to 16th World Congress will be from the 16th World Congress Secretariat (email only) and the email accounts of the members of the Organising and Programme Committees.
