Most studies of transmedia storytelling focus on the similarities and differences in the narrative strategies of specific film and television texts, on the structure of each text, and the way it contributes to the construction of a commercial em- pire as a whole. There hasn't been any discussion yet on how to stimulate the receivers' sense of participation at the narrative level, especially how to coalesce interactive identity in national narratives. This paper takes contemporary Chinese national animation films as its specific object, trying to explore how they achieve veridiction and accessibility in a storyworld of transmedia narratives and summon the mythological and historical imagination shared by the Chinese national community in its national narratives. In participatory textual exploration and intertextual meaning production of the storyworld, awakening and constructing a collective “story memory”. In this sense, transmedia storytelling is a summoning technique of community memory, where the storyworld becomes a background mnemonic device. On the one hand, the accessibility of the storysetting promotes the development of the plot, while on the other hand, it summons the symbol receivers to construct real emotional memories and push for the realization of group identity. In this regard, transmedia storytelling of Chinese traditional culture in Chinese contemporary national animated films can provide a narrative path for the construction of a sense of community for the Chinese Nation.
