The artistic text is an essential element in the construction of symbolic meaning and in the processes of social exchange that human beings have been involved in since the beginning of history. In this work, we will talk about contemporary Spanish democracy, a political-social system determined by historical circumstances, which is considered an exemplary model for coexistence among Spaniards. In the explanation of its past and present, in its narrative, literature plays a central role because it contributes to the consolidation of a fictional world, to a greater or lesser extent depending on the case, which is sold as historical reality and which ends up becoming firmly embedded in the collective imagination. We are going to present for your perusal and commentary some examples of chronicles and autobiographical texts by various Spanish writers who recount, from different and sometimes opposing perspectives, historical events of the Spanish democratic period that began in 1978. We will proceed to analyse these events, the dominant semiotic systems that explain them, as well as the presence of peripheral elements that propose other meanings, other interpretations. In this way, we will show the inadequacy of closed monolithic systemic approaches, in the face of a polyphonic reality that does not understand absolute and irrefutable truths. Finally, we will analyse the insertion of these authors in the new digital space, their presence in social networks and their influence on the social collective.
