Presenting a new methodology, we combine artificial intelligence (AI) with eye-tracking to explore the complex realm of religious imagination. This approach not only sheds light on how participants visualize spiritual ideas through AI-generated images but also aims to identify the religious concepts that have significant influence over individuals.In a study involving 22 compositions, Czech participants were asked questions such as "How do you imagine God?" and were tasked with choosing from 12 AI-generated images presented in random order. These images were evaluated for each concept on a weighted scale. To address AI's inherent cultural biases, scores were normalized based on the minimum and maximum achievable points for each concept. Using eye-tracking technology, we carefully examined participants' choices, interests, and return patterns to images, using Area of Interest (AOI)-based metrics. Through descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, we aim to reveal how each concept influences the imagination of diverse ideas across specific demographic and religious groups.In addition to its implications for religious studies, our research holds promise for the field of semiotics. By uncovering the complex interplay between religious imagery and individual perception, our methodology offers valuable insights into the semiotic processes underlying the interpretation of religious symbols and signs. The graphical representation of participants' choices using generated radar charts facilitates a comparative assessment of the influence of various concepts, opening avenues for the application of AI and eye-tracking technology in cultural studies fields beyond religious contexts.
