A boundary is not the end where something stops, but as the Greeks recognized, the boundary is that from whichsomething begins its presenting (Heidegger). From windows, as part of a boundary, that the process of building of layered spatial volumes begin. The study of relations from inside to outside is necessary to complete the intent of the element of communication. As architecture is exposed to life (Zumthor), the experience on the boundary between two edges, which is significant for the architectural design proces, leed into the another space (Zanini). The boundary has a double meaning – at the same time, the conjunction becomes disjunctions, and vice versa, the disjunction becomes conjunction (Zanini). Window as an opening is associated with the notion of breaking the limit for moving from one semantic field to another. As for the imaginary hole is richer in meaning than mere gaps: full with all possibilities of what will be met or that which will pass through its opening, it was full of waiting, or the sudden presence of some knowledge” (Gheerbrant, Chevalier). Phenomenology has changed the relationship between body and mind, thus eliminacting the baundary between the obserdved structure and us. It forms a connection between objective reality and subjectibe associations. Windows play a vital role in expressing that connection.Window, as the fundamental element of architecture, expresses the scale, the rhythm and the atmosphere (Pallasma). As sign and reality, it presents a significant part of the building's identity and essence.
