In this presentation, I shall be speaking about the presence of a dialectical relation between Dasein and Transcendence in Eero Tarasti's existential semiotics. In the theory, the formation of a zemic structure requires a connection that would establish the creation of a sign and its background. From a Hegelian perspective, in existential semiotics, existence of Dasein requires the existence of Transcendence and vice versa. However, their existence(s) do not mean an one-directional movement, where priority becomes necessity. Therefore, the way a sign is created is an act in motion where Dasein and Transcendence interract from their own positions and through their own capabilities. Between them, they remain in motion; the creation of a sign is not a dead end for Dasein or Transcendence regarding that created sign. There is a possibility of inadequacy which takes the created sign back to the process of re-affirmation and negation. Then, the question of retaining what remains continues the dialectical movement in the process. The properties of the affirmed and negated elements preserve their marks in the created signs as it moves through dialectics. In my explanation, I shall attempt to find this dialectical relation between Dasein and Transcendence as one of the central aspects in the theory of existential semiotics using Hegelian philosophy and why the creation of a sign is not merely a straightforward process towards a fixed result.
