Polish Music Through the Ages [concert]
Polish Music Through the Ages [concert]
This concert aims to present characteristic features of Polish vocal music from different eras. During the first part of the concert, the choir will sing some Polish Renaissance polyphony, while the second part is dedicated to Polish choral music of the 20th century (Karol Szymanowski /1882–1937/ and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki /1933–2010/). Finally, the choir will sing several pieces of Polish popular music, rooted both in the tradition of literary and artistic songs and in the musical trends and idioms connected to modern global musical culture. The 45-minute program has been designed in such a way that it will illustrate the stylistic diversity of Polish music with only a cappella choir.
